NEW FOR MARCH 2012
Themed Radio Workshops

Themed Radio Workshops

New for this term, we've teamed up with some experts in their fields to bring you a Religious Education Radio Workshop with Sharon Artley, a MFL Radio Workshop with Joe Dale and an E-Safety and Digital Literacy Radio Workshop with Simon Finch.  These are whole day live radio workshops with specific curriculum themes running right through them.  We provide everything included consultancy before we arrive to ensure that we meet all of your learning objectives on the day.  This is a fixed price workshop for up to 40 pupils or students at both primary and secondary level, larger groups can be arranged.  These well known experts will work with Russell to bring you a live radio broadcast towards the end of your school day.  Anyone can listen into the show, typically schools will send invitations to parents and supporters of the school or establishment so that they can tune into the Internet Radio Station at the allotted time.  The broadcasts are available live on the world-wide Anderton Tiger Radio Channel, so twinned schools or World Class Schools can listen in too.  A podcast of the show is given to the school at the end of the activity.

We consistently score top 5 Star marks with all of our products, there are also some great independent reviews of our School Radio products on the Innovate My School Website   This is what our customers are saying about us "The children quickly acquired (within an hour) the basic skills necessary to produce a live broadcast using jingles."  "The Broadcaster Desktop is one of the best things our school has purchased."  Read more of these new fabulous reviews HERE. We are the only Digital School Radio manufacturer to consistently score 5 Stars, the highest standard and the cheapest on the market.

Maths Educaiton with Digital Tech

Published by Continuum Books "Mathematics Education with Digital Technology" edited by Adrian Oldknow & Carol Knights, Russell has written Chapter 12 "Home & School - Bridging the Gap"  The title draws on the expertise of a wide range of contributors from across the globe.  It is thought provoking and challenging and covers a diverse range of ICT.  It is hoped that this publication can move the agenda forward and bring ICT to all our students.  ISBN 978-1-4411-8472-6 published by www.Continuumbooks.com 2011  Other contributors include Don Passey, Andy Kemp, Vanessa Pittard and David Wright, the book is highly recommended but it isn't for the faint hearted.

We use The Anderton Tiger Radio broadcast channel to AIR our live Radio Shows that form part Russell with a microphoneof our broadcasting activity.  Live Radio is different to Podcasting, because its live, our audience can participate in real-time, just like real radio.  Listeners can ask questions, contribute to discussions and give their opinions on a wide range of subjects.  They can text in too, we have a special standard rate text service, just send your message during one of our shows by putting the word RADIO at the start of your message and sending it to 85010.  Texts are charged at your normal message rate.  It is even possible to phone in live during the show.  Russell uses his own School Radio Broadcasting Equipment, The Anderton Tiger Broadcaster has Skype integrated into the live show control software so live callers can easily be put on air.  Russell will give the number out during the show.

Russell hosts a regular live show aimed at educators and parents exploring the latest learning technologies.  We also use this channel to broadcast live radio workshops with learners, educators and host live events throughout the year.  After broadcast programmes are often stored as podcasts and uploaded to our Listen-Again Podcast Service, these shows are then available again through our high capacity server.  Our shows also come in two formats usually broadcast simultaneously, one as a WMA Streaming Audio file, and one as a straight forward MP3.  The WMA stream is slightly higher quality but the MP3 stream is more compatible with a wider range of listening devices.  If you would like to know more about having a Live Radio Workshop at your establishment, please have a look at our Workshops pages where you will find details and prices for a whole day session with your learners.  If you are an event organiser, Russell may like to come and broadcast at your event, please do let Sarah know if you have an opportunity, there is often no charge for our participation as we like to support as many live events as possible throughout the year.
