NEW FOR MARCH 2012
Themed Radio Workshops

Themed Radio Workshops

New for this term, we've teamed up with some experts in their fields to bring you a Religious Education Radio Workshop with Sharon Artley, a MFL Radio Workshop with Joe Dale and an E-Safety and Digital Literacy Radio Workshop with Simon Finch.  These are whole day live radio workshops with specific curriculum themes running right through them.  We provide everything included consultancy before we arrive to ensure that we meet all of your learning objectives on the day.  This is a fixed price workshop for up to 40 pupils or students at both primary and secondary level, larger groups can be arranged.  These well known experts will work with Russell to bring you a live radio broadcast towards the end of your school day.  Anyone can listen into the show, typically schools will send invitations to parents and supporters of the school or establishment so that they can tune into the Internet Radio Station at the allotted time.  The broadcasts are available live on the world-wide Anderton Tiger Radio Channel, so twinned schools or World Class Schools can listen in too.  A podcast of the show is given to the school at the end of the activity.

We consistently score top 5 Star marks with all of our products, there are also some great independent reviews of our School Radio products on the Innovate My School Website   This is what our customers are saying about us "The children quickly acquired (within an hour) the basic skills necessary to produce a live broadcast using jingles."  "The Broadcaster Desktop is one of the best things our school has purchased."  Read more of these new fabulous reviews HERE. We are the only Digital School Radio manufacturer to consistently score 5 Stars, the highest standard and the cheapest on the market.

Russell's FREE PodcastsRussell is an independent ICT Evangelist and Broadcaster Using live demonstrations Russell looks at new and existing technologies and suggests new ways that colleagues can take advantage of these in their subject teaching in the C21st.  Russell also provides strategic ICT thinking to a number of key UK education players.  He is involved in several action based research projects and is passionate about educational ICT.

RESEARCH
Nine years ago Russell embarked upon a research project to find and identify some new, quick and easy wins for creative and collaborative uses of ICT for learners and educators.  He looked at many technologies
and could already see a gap developing between speaking and listening and writing skills. Learners were also showing signs of increased levels of boredom and reluctant and disengaged learners were being recognised. In 2005 Russell had already started making podcasts for his teaching audiences to listen to advice and guidance about new technology. He thought that something along these lines would be good to do with young people but it had to be live and as you know podcasts are anything but live. Live is exciting, live is risky and later Russell discovered, live is easier to do!  Doing a live podcast on the Internet as a Radio Show with some children seemed like the right thing to try next.  Russell tried lots of different equipment looking for the perfect solution, he even reconfigured other peoples broadcasting equipment to broadcast live on the internet.

In September 2008, Russell started broadcasting a live Radio Show each month to educators about Learning & Teaching in the C21st and started Anderton Tiger Radio.  He also runs Live Radio Workshops in schools and colleges so that learners can experience the thrill and excitement of producing a live radio show.  More about Russell’s live radio shows and to listen again to any of his broadcasts please visit www.andertontiger.com/podcasts  In September 2009, Russell brought a new radio station system to the market The Anderton Tiger Broadcaster is packed with technology to make broadcasting easy.  Russell often has his radio studio with him and colleagues get to see how by using this equipment they can engage reluctant writers, stretch more able students and 21st Century engage with learners of all ages and abilities.  Russell often talks about creative problem solving and vital survival skills for the C21st and the ability to collaborate to make a live radio show is a brilliant way of developing these skills.

In May 2011, Russell brought his second broadcasting product to the market, The Anderton Tiger Desktop.  It is no accident that this turnkey radio station is the cheapest digital school radio station on the market.  It has been well received and has a best of class 5 star rating on the independent website www.InnovateMySchool.com

For BETT 2012 - Russell came up with the idea of creating a live BETT Radio station to compliment the existing BETT Show activities.  He has been running BETT Radio since September 2011 and will continue to produce a live show each month right up to BETT2013, where you will find him with his BETT Radio Studio on the Professor Stephen Heppell's Central Feature.
